Adrian
Metcalfe
(Non-Executive Director)
Adrian has 45 years of experience in
professional sports, having held top executive
roles in television broadcasting and having
produced many events for television, including
air racing.
Adrian began his career as an
Olympic medallist sprinter. He then worked
extensively in sports reporting, commentating,
directing, producing and consulting.
Adrian was
part of the original founding team of Channel 4
where he was Senior Commissioning Editor. He
went on to co-found the channel Eurosport as
Director of Programmes.
Since then Adrian has
worked in an array of executive positions such
as Director of Programmes at an ITV network; a
Director of Production at the Atlanta Olympic
Games; Chairman of API TV, a world-wide
television sales and production firm; and,
Executive Publisher at Worldsport.com, the
world’s largest official sports site.
Recently,
Adrian was also responsible for award-winning
production of several events at the Athens
Olympics and is now a senior advisor to the UK
government and London 2012 Olympic Committee.
Adrian is also Chairman of the Major Events
Steering Group, UK Sports Council. He holds an
MA from Oxford University.
