Sir David
Cousins (Aviation)
Before retiring from the Royal Air Force in
1998, David rose to the rank of Air Chief
Marshall – second in command of the entire
British Air Force. David worked full time as the
Chief Executive of the RAF Benevolent Fund.
He
was responsible for running this ‘blue chip’
charity which has in excess of £100 million in
its reserves and its function is to provide
welfare support for all members of the extended
‘RAF family.” During his military career David
carried out a number of flying tours, held
senior staff appointments in Air Plans,
Operational Requirements and Operations and from
1986 through to the end of his service career he
held five top air rank appointments in the
Ministry of Defence.
David continues to be very
active in the charitable world and is a Trustee
for a number of charities and other organisations. He is also extremely
well-networked in the international aviation
community and amongst international politicians
and decision-makers.
