Mike
Harnden (Operations)

After retiring from the military, Mike
gained 15 years experience as a successful
innovative organiser of a wide variety of major
international events.
He left the Army in 1988
as a Major having served with the Parachute
Regiment and Royal Artillery.
During his service
he organised numerous large scale military
operational deployments as well as sporting and
social events. Between 1996 and 2000 Mike was
employed by the Daily Mail Groups Antiques Fairs
Organisation who staged over 75 major
international events each year.
He was a key
member of the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games
Management team and initially had a leading role
in the contract negotiation for all temporary
structures.
Once that phase was completed he
then project managed the construction of 4 of
the 13 Sporting venues which he achieved on time
and within budget.
He has been closely involved
in disaster relief recovery efforts as well as
establishing new major events including “Collect
it Fairs” and the “Newark International Vintage
Tractor and Agricultural Machinery Show” which
is now recognised as the premier event in the
national events calendar. He has been with Aero
GP since April 2006 as Operations Director.
